Postponed to a later date

Mustangs, Ice Wolves game postponed due to bus issues

Jan 10, 2025 | 3:02 PM

There will be no SJHL game between the La Ronge Ice Wolves and the Melfort Mustangs Friday night at the Northern Lights Palace.

The La Ronge Ice Wolves were scheduled to travel to Melfort, however, there were problems with the team’s bus which prevented them from making the trip down.

This is the second Mustangs’ game that has been postponed this year; the previous of which was a road game set to take place in Yorkton against the Terriers that was prevented due to poor winter road conditions. The game has been rescheduled for Feb. 4.

As for the matchup with La Ronge, a later date has not yet been determined.

While the Stangs will no longer be playing tonight, they are scheduled to welcome in the Yorkton Terriers tomorrow night at the Palace.

The Saturday night contest will be the first of four scheduled meetings between the two clubs.

Yorkton is the only team the Blue and Green have yet to play against.

The Terriers will enter the game on a two-game losing streak, despite being 8 and 2 in their last 10, while the Mustangs will enter the contest having lost their last match, albeit being winners of their previous 17.

As for the Ice Wolves, they will now be off until Tuesday, when they have a date with the Weyburn Red Wings.
