Details released for upcoming Lac La Ronge Winter Festival

The schedule has been released for the upcoming Lac La Ronge Winter Festival.

Festivities will begin Feb. 28 with the Winter Classic Texas Hold’em tournament at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre and end March 9 with the crowning of the Tracker Tom Charles Memorial King and Queen Trappers.

Other highlights include the Northern Talent Showcase, Festival Queen Crowning and the naming of the Mr. and Mrs. Winter Festival on March 1, the Council Cup Staff Broomball Challenge on March 5, the Jimmy Roberts Memorial Hockey Tournament on March 7, and a Fundraiser Cabaret on March 8.

Other events happening during the Lac La Ronge Winter Festival are the Don Allen Saskaloppet on March 1 and back-to-back Ice Wolves games against the Kindersley Klippers on March 1 and 2.

The list of events for the festival remains the same as previous years and tens of thousands of dollars will be awarded during the nine days. The festival is designed to create an atmosphere of community spirit.
