Wollaston Lake death a homicide

A 24-year-old man has died suspiciously in Hatchet Lake according to the RCMP.

RCMP officers from the detachment were called to a reported serious injury outside a home in the community at about 12:10 pm on March 25.

They found the body of Gaten Josie ‘Joseyounen’ from Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation.

The Major Crimes unit is now investigating and asking anyone who lives in the area or drove through the community yesterday between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm to check surveillance or dash cameras.

Images or videos of suspicious activity should be reported to police by calling 310-RCMP.
