Northern power outage affecting 12,000 customers

A large unplanned power outage is affecting parts of Northern Saskatchewan.

A SaskPower spokesperson told larongeNOW the power outage affects 12,000 customers across multiple communities such as Air Ronge, La Ronge, Stanley Mission, Waskesiu and Weyakwin.

The reason for the outage is an issue with a transmission line. There is no estimated time for repair, but the spokesperson said the power is expected to be restored fairly quick.
