Dry spell persists into November, cold temperatures to linger
A prolonged dry spell in the La Ronge region persisted into November.
That’s according to data from Environment and Climate Change Canada, which shows La Ronge, Swift Current and Yorkton received less than 50 per cent of their normal monthly November precipitation. That’s in contrast to places like Prince Albert and Meadow Lake that received more than 100 per cent of their normal monthly precipitation.
It was the 11th driest November in La Ronge out of 60 years of record keeping. There was 13.3 millimeters of precipitation out of an average of 26.9 mm.
“The good news regarding snowfall is we are expecting snow that will hit La Ronge beginning later today and into tonight – about two to four centimeters are forecasted,” said Meteorologist Danielle Desjardins.
