Kaminski takes personal leave from Ice Wolves

Feb 20, 2026 | 5:01 PM

Ice Wolves Head Coach Kevin Kaminski has taken a personal leave effective Feb. 20.

That’s according to an announcement issued by the team on Friday, which states during his time away, Assistant Coach Kyle Graham will assume head coaching, hockey operations responsibilities, and that he can be contacted regarding all hockey-related matters.

“The board of directors fully supports Kevin during this time and respects his privacy,” the announcement states.

“Our priority remains the well-being of our players and operations will continue as normal. We are committed to ensuring stability and continuity within the organization.”

Kaminski joined the Ice Wolves in 2019 and signed a three-year contract renewal in May 2025. larongeNOW reached out to him about the personal leave, but he didn’t respond by publishing time.

It has been a difficult season so far for the Ice Wolves, who have only won eight out of 45 games. They are currently last in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with 20 points, which is 10 points short of newcomers, The Warman Wolverines.

The next Ice Wolves home game is scheduled for Feb. 21 against the Melfort Mustangs.
