New RCMP detachment to open spring 2028
Land for a new RCMP detachment is being cleared in La Ronge.
The new detachment will be built across Highway 102 from the La Ronge Regional Fire Department. Details release from the police force state the new building will be approximately 18,000 square feet and is being designed to be a net zero carbon facility.
Saskatchewan RCMP expects to move into the new building in the spring of 2028. La Ronge RCMP, which is one of the busiest detachments in the province, serves a wide area and communities such as Sucker River and Hall Lake.
The new building will include a multipurpose room next to the front reception, which will be made available to the community for different meetings and events when it is not needed for RCMP operations. It will also include an area dedicated to victim services.
