Province invests $3.6M in urban highway upgrades across Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan is investing in urban roads that connect to major highways, with projects planned in communities across the province, including Prince Albert and North Battleford.
About $3.6 million will go toward road maintenance and related work through the province’s Urban Highway Connector Program, alongside larger capital projects in centres like Swift Current
Highways Minister Kim Gartner said the work is aimed at improving key transportation links for local traffic and supporting the province’s export-driven economy.
“Once completed, these projects will improve key transportation links, which benefits local traffic, commuters and keeps the provincial highway network better connected to move our export-based economy and support Saskatchewan’s quality of life,” Gartner stated.
