Rutschman powers Orioles to 13-3 rout of Blue Jays in three-game series opener
TORONTO — Adley Rutschman knocked in five runs with four hits, including a homer and a pair of two-run doubles, to spark the Baltimore Orioles to a 13-3 rout against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.
Coby Mayo followed Rutschman’s lead in the five-run sixth with a two-run homer as Baltimore (31-33) won its fifth in six games. The Blue Jays (30-34) lost for the fifth time in six outings before 41,801 at Rogers Centre.
The Rutschman and Mayo homers came off Toronto starter Trey Yesavage (2-3).
The right-hander cruised through five innings. His only blemish entering the sixth was the Rutschman solo shot.
