TORONTO — Lena Silano scored twice for AFC Toronto in a 3-0 blanking of Ottawa Rapid FC in the Northern Super League on Saturday.
Silano struck in the 44th and 49th minutes for Toronto (10-5-7), which ranked second in the women’s pro soccer league standings two points behind Montreal, and just a point ahead of Ottawa (11-8-3).
Sarah Stratigakis came off the bench to score Toronto’s third goal in the 82nd minute.
Keeper Sabrina D’Angelo, a two-time Olympian who has played for Canada for a decade, produced a clean sheet for Toronto.
