Teen’s death not criminal, say RCMP

The death of a 15-year-old boy in Stanley Mission was not criminal, the RCMP have confirmed in response to an inquiry by paNOW.

Dylan Ballantyne was reported missing on July 18, and his remains were found on July 23.

Police are aware of a video being shared on social media from Dylan’s mother that depicts a confrontation with several people, mostly with loud voices. Dylan’s voice was recognizable to his mother, according to the post.

While officers said that the evidence they have so far indicates the death was not a crime, Stanley Mission RCMP are looking into the video.
