Council set to approve 2026 operating budget next week
Town council could approve its 2026 operating budget at their next regular meeting on Monday.
An open house in regards to the budget, as well as the 10-Year Capital Plan, was held on Nov. 17. It included a $900,000 surplus with no increase in property taxes and expenses totaling nearly $8.6 million. Overall, revenue levels are down 3.35 per cent or $298,547 from 2025, but up $404,893 from 2024.
There is currently more than $10.5 million in the town’s reserve fund.
“Combined attendance at the open house sessions was good, with representation from the media (larongeNOW) and approximately 20 residents,” a document prepared for council states.
