RCMP investigate shooting incident at Hatchet Lake

A 27-year-old man is being sought by Saskatchewan RCMP following an early morning shooting incident at Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation.

Mason Joseyounen is facing a number of charges related to unauthorized possession and discharge of of gun; as well as uttering threats and mischief under $5,000.

On February 1, around 1 a.m., officers received a report of a firearm discharge at a residence.

The subsequent investigation determined a man threatened an individual and later discharged a firearm at a house, striking it. No injuries were reported to police.

A source close to the incident told paNOW there were both adults and children in the home at the time of the shooting.

Joseyounen is also wanted by Wollaston Lake RCMP on charges related to an incident that happened on January 30. He is described as approximately 6-2 and 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who see Joseyounen is encouraged not to approach him. Any sightings should be reported to RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
