Sandy Bay man with warrants arrested by RCMP
Sandy Bay RCMP have arrested a man accused of thefts, a break-in and a robbery.
From Feb. 16 to 21, police received three reports of two of thefts and one of a robbery at the same business, as well as one break-in at a community facility.
As a result of investigation into these incidents, 25-year-old Edwin Ballantyne from Sandy Bay was charged with robbery with weapon, theft under $5,000, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, uttering threats, break and enter with intent, and theft from mail under $5,000.
He was also arrested on a number of arrest warrants, including for assault and failing to comply with probation related to incidents reported to Sandy Bay RCMP in 2025.
