Bells named Mr. and Mrs. Winter Festival

Crawford and Adele Bell have been named this year’s Mr. And Mrs. Winter Festival. 

They were announced as the winners of the prestigious titles at the Northern Talent Showcase at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre on Saturday. They were chosen as the 2026 winners by last year’s titleholders Gabe and Maureen McKay.  

“It’s very exciting for me,” Adele Bell told larongeNOW shortly after the announcement.  

The Bells have been married for about 30 years, and they are both currently semi-retired but work at the Woodland Wellness Centre. He works as security and she works in child care. 

The Bells also previously had long careers with the Lac La Ronge Indian Band in education. She worked as a Head Start instructor for 22 years and he also worked at the daycare in Head Start. In addition, Crawford Bell was involved with the Canadian Rangers for 15 years.

Also at the Northern Talent Showcase, Angela Isbister was named as the Winter Festival Queen, having sold 148 books of tickets. In total, approximately $8,000 was raised through the Winter Festival Queen fundraiser.

The Lac La Ronge Winter Festival continues until March 8 with a full week of activities planned until then. Many of the events require either admission fee or a $5 winter festival for entry.
