Tabitha Burr has stepped down as an Air Ronge councillor.

In a statement to larongeNOW, she explained that after careful reflection, she decided to accept a new role with the village as the deputy-chief administrative officer/manager of legislative services.

Burr was first elected to council in November 2020 and then re-elected via acclamation in November 2024.

“With more than 15 years of public‑sector administrative experience, including municipal governance, human resources administration, council engagement, and policy and bylaw support, I am confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully to the village’s leadership team,” her statement reads.

“I look forward to working alongside the council in this new capacity and am grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting the health and well-being of Air Ronge beyond election cycles.”

She noted her focus remains on strengthening good governance, supporting transparent processes, and helping ensure the community continues to grow in a way that reflects the values and needs of our residents.

“I want to sincerely thank the community for the trust they placed in me as a councillor, and I look forward to continuing to serve Air Ronge in this new role,” Burr added.

Air Ronge Mayor Julie Baschuk offered her gratitude for Burr’s contributions to council.

“Demonstrating the passion, dedication, and commitment required to serve one’s community is a notable achievement. Your contributions are worthy of recognition as you conclude this chapter and embark on a new one,” she wrote on social media.

A by-election will be held April 22 in Air Ronge with the deadline to submit nominations set for March 18 at 4 p.m.
