Air Ronge receives $800,000 in infrastructure grants

Apr 20, 2026 | 3:41 PM

The Village of Air Ronge has received $800,000 in grants for upcoming municipal projects.

In specific, Air Ronge will receive $400,000 from the Ministry of Government Relations and another $400,000 though the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF).

The work will include upgrading 11 drainage areas within the village to extend infrastructure service life, protect existing residential and commercial properties, and unlock land for future development. That will involve excavator trenching, culvert replacement, ditch build-up, trench clearing, and swale creation or installation.

“The municipality is required to obtain all necessary licenses, permits and approvals required for the project by applicable legislation, regulations, and bylaws,” a letter from the CCBF states.

“The project may be subject to environmental assessment and implementation of any mitigating measures identified by the assessment. It is the municipality’s responsibility to make the necessary arrangements in this regard.”

larongeNOW reached out to Air Ronge administration about more details about the scope of the project, timelines and locations, but was told that information is not yet available.

The project is an item on Tuesday’s regular council meeting agenda.
