Fire ban declared in tri-communities

The La Ronge Regional Fire Department has issued a fire and fireworks ban effective immediately. 

The ban was issued on Wednesday at approximately 12 p.m. with support from tri-community leadership, as well as the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency.

While the ban covers fireworks and open fires, traditional smokers, propane barbecues, propane-fueled fire pits and briquettes are permitted. 

“This ban has been issued to ensure the risk of any urban wildfire within the tri-communities is eliminated as much as possible,” the notice states.
