Churchill celebrates largest graduating class ever
La Ronge’s Churchill Community High School has achieved a milestone in its graduation class of 2026.
With 61 students graduating during a ceremony at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre on Saturday, it marked the largest graduating class in the school’s history. In 2025, there were 49 graduates, and in 2024, there were only 34.
There were many dignitaries who attended the event, including Northern Light School Division Director of Education Jason Young, Cumberland NDP MLA Jordan McPhail and leaders representing the tri-communities.
In her welcoming speech, Churchill Principal Kristianna Mercredi told the class they are capable, resourceful, and able to overcome insurmountable obstacles.
