Man charged following shooting in La Ronge
A man has been charged in relation to a shooting in La Ronge.
On July 18 at approximately 11 a.m., RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge on Cook Crescent. An investigation determined a vehicle approached a house on the street, several occupants exited the vehicle, and an altercation occurred between them and an individual at the property.
During the altercation, a firearm was discharged, injuring a woman who remained inside the vehicle. She was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
Officers seized a firearm following the incident and arrested and charged 36-year-old Jonah Ratt from La Ronge with three counts of assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent. He appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 20 and will appear again on Aug. 17.
