A planned power outage is expected later this month for several communities north of La Ronge.
The outage will affect 1,179 customers in the communities of English Bay, Grandmother’s Bay, Missinipe, Nemeiben River, Stanley Mission, Sucker River and Wadin Bay.
The outage, which was previously planned for Aug. 16 from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m., was rescheduled to Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A spokesperson for SaskPower stated the outage is necessary to replace aging power poles in the region. He noted aging infrastructure is the largest cause of outages in Saskatchewan.
