U.S. suspect conspired with Tumbler Ridge killer before and during attack: FBI
The FBI says that on Feb. 10, Jesse Van Rootselaar told online friend James Cody Bryant that she had dressed for the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., that would claim the lives of eight victims that day.
An FBI complaint that recounts alleged interactions between the pair — including efforts to livestream the murders — shows a photo of someone from their shoulders down, in fishnet stockings and a black miniskirt, holding a rifle with what looks like a silencer in pink, white and blue, the colours of the transgender pride flag
“A few moments later, Van Rootselaar told Bryant that she went live with the stream and had just killed her family members at their residence,” says the complaint released on Tuesday.
Minutes later, Bryant is alleged to have helped Van Rootselaar start the family car — she did not know how to drive — before the 18-year-old killer headed to Tumbler Ridge Secondary School where she shot dead five students and an educational assistant.
