Highway 2 closed for several hours as RCMP investigate two-vehicle collision

UPDATE:

RCMP confirmed in a media release just after 8 p.m. Thursday that the highway had re-opened. There were no further details given. The highway had been closed since shortly before 2 p.m.

La Ronge RCMP are on the scene of a two-vehicle collision 30 kilometers south of town.

Acting-Staff Sgt. Josh Hallett confirmed a small vehicle and a semi truck collided on Highway 2. Both lanes of traffic are closed and Hallett stated the highway could remained closed for several hours. Police are on the scene investigating and the extent of any injuries is unknown.
