Russell “Craig” Walker was born on Friday, December 19, 1975, in Prince Albert, SK, to George and Sandra Walker (nee Schwan), and passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 after a brief stay at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK, with loved ones at his side. Born in Prince Albert, Craig moved with his family to La Ronge at an early age where he stayed until high school. He returned to Prince Albert where he graduated from St. Mary’s High School. After his father’s passing he returned to La Ronge to help with the family business – STC and GeoSan Courier. When his brother moved, he joined Chris and his family for a brief time in BC before returning to make his home in Prince Albert. His work included Zellers, 7-11, La Ronge Bus Depot, The Source, GL Communications, and Jump.ca. To Craig, family was family no matter how extended they were, and he recognized many people as family even if he wasn’t related to them. Craig’s nieces and nephews were the highlights of his life, and he was the most loving Uncle any could ask for. Though he had many friends who had a special bond with him, he held a special place in his heart for his cousins. Craig had a lot of friends that were special to him. Although there are too many to name, there was a place in his heart for each and every one, and the family would like to say thank you for the love and compassion that they have shown. Special thank you to his good friend Connie Banks, who has been an incredible support over the past few weeks. Craig is survived by LeeAnn Walker; her children, Anna and Owen Fast who were his step-children; his sister-in-law, Nancy Dron; Chris’ children, Milo Walker, Jennica Rae Walker, Tian Daniel Walker, Alexander Douglas Walker; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, George Alexander Walker on January 22, 2003; his mother, Sandra Lorraine Walker on June 8, 2008; his brother, Christopher Daniel Walker on July 4, 2016; his grandparents, Lorne and Leila Walker, Franke and Eileen Schwan. The Celebration of Craig’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, October 25, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, 1351 28 Street East, Prince Albert, SK, Pastor Jim Galbraith officiating.
