John "Scott" Gollan

It is with great sadness, yet with comfort, that the family of Scott Gollan announce his passing after a life-long battle with Dystonia on August 31, 2019 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, surrounded by his four girls. Scott was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on February 10, 1962 to Murdo and Evelyn Gollan. For those who knew him, Scott was one to keep you on your toes. His headstrong, wild child personality was one of a kind but ultimately was what gave him the perseverance through life and the challenges he faced. Like his father, he was a welder by trade with the Boilermakers #555, jack-of-all trades and in earlier years enjoyed nothing more than tinkering on equipment and things around the house, (results may not have been pretty but he got it done). He and his wonderful wife of 38 years, met early in life on a blind date. Together they created a family, built a small farm and continued the joy in his grandchildren; his happiest achievement, just the mention of their names and his face would light up. Left to remember him are his wife Bev; daughters Ray (Jarrod) Gabriel, Leah (Jeremy) Mardell, and Kera (Andrew) Styles; his grandchildren, Linken and Hunter Gabriel, Kayne Styles, and Baby Mardell: Due in early 2020; His siblings Diane Friesen, Lori Gollan, Bob (Mary) Gollan, and Ronda (Dale) Ruzycki; his wife’s family; as well as aunts, uncles and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; Murdo and Evelyn Gollan, and his daughter and little angel, Sarah Gollan. Scott’s funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at St. James Parish in Albertville, at 1pm, Father Jim Kaptein officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Scott can be made to the Dystsonia Medical Research Foundation of Canada, at 550 St. Clair Ave W, Unit 209, Toronto, ON M6C 1A5. The family would like to thank the Nelson Personal Care home in Prince Albert as that was Scott’s home for the last year; the staff at Victoria Hospital Intensive Care for their compassion and exceptional care of both Scott and his family; Dr. Ben Saleh; as well as the staff at River Park Memorial. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, (306) 764-2727, Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
