It is with great sadness for the family of Reg Schrader to announce his sudden passing at the age of 79 years in Saskatoon, SK on Sunday, July 28th, 2019. Reg was born May 22nd, 1940 to Earnest Lloyd Schrader and Sarah Elsie Schrader (nee Davis) in Snowdon Township, Haliburton District, ON. Reg was on his way to explore the west and to see the Calgary Stampede. Being punctual and early, he got an opportunity to stop in and see family in Saskatchewan. This brief visit brought his desire to live in the West. Reg met and then married Katie A. Schrader (nee McKinnon). After moving to Prince Albert in 1980, Reg was employed by the Department of Highways as a heavy-duty equipment operator, he enjoyed the work and people and the experiences northern Saskatchewan had to offer. He made time to coach minor hockey and supported his beloved Prince Albert Raiders, in the summer he filled his time gardening, berry picking, and of course his greatest passion was fishing. Reg’s proudest achievement was his family. Reg will always be remembered for his passion for life and for his curious sense of humour. He would often go to great lengths to pull labour intensive pranks, in hopes to be rewarded with a simple smile.
Reg was preceded by his wife: Katie Schrader in 2009, son: Monty Schrader in 2006, sister: Ivy McEwen in 1997, brothers: Alvin Schrader in 2013 and Meril Schrader in 2013 also his beloved Dog Rocky in March 2016. His memory will be forever cherished by his daughter: Ella (Stan) Kotelko from Martensville, SK, son: Calvin (Barb) Schrader from Deep River, ON, his grandchildren: Andrew, Lydia, Westin , step-children: Ruth Either from Leduc, AB, Richard (Kathleen) Bacon from Prince Albert, SK, Keith (Sharon) Bacon from Prince Albert, SK, brother: Jim Schrader from Bracebridge, ON, sisters: Verna Stevens from Oshawa, ON and Connie (Jim Parsons) from New Orleans, Louisiana as well as numerous step-grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
