Lorne John William Baily passed away suddenly on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the age of 95. Lorne was born June 20, 1924 to Thomas and Emily Baily in Rivers, Manitoba. When he was a young boy in 1927, the family moved to Paddockwood and he attended school at Moose Lake and PACI. Lorne was an exceptional athlete excelling in all sports he participated in but his two favorites were softball and dancing. As a youngster Lorne got the farming bug, loving agriculture and everything God’s Country had to give.  In November 26, 1947 he married Helen and together they raised a family of 5 children Bob, Larry, Marlene, Val and Greg. Lorne loved the farm and moved to a site in Birch Hills District where he called home till his passing. He farmed as late as this summer seeding his crop and watching it grow, was excited for harvest to complete another season. When fall came around he kept himself busy with ice fishing, hunting and cheering on the Raiders. If you could see Lorne at home, he would be tuned into a sporting events of sorts or he would jump in his truck and make his way to town.

Lorne was predeceased by his wife Helen, his son Larry, his sisters Kay and Mary and his parents Thomas and Emily Baily.

Lorne’s memory will be forever cherished by his children: Bob (Diane) Baily, Marlene (Gord) McKee, Val Bailey,  Greg (Leanne) Baily;  his grandchildren: Darlana, Deni, Justine, Sarah, Gerry, Phil, Dixie, Josh and Dane; his great grandchildren: Hanson, Lucy, Izzy, Ruby, Ryder, Bennet, Sadie, Thia, Declan, Brett, Delaney, Hailey, Wyatt, Avery, Evelyn; his daughter-in-law Teresa (Gil) Reynolds;  his sister Evelyn as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Lake Park Baptist Church,  Birch Hills, SK with Pastor Matthew Teigrob officiating. Interment will be held at Lake Park Lutheran Church Cemetery. Donations in Lorne’s memory can be made to a Charity Of One’s Choice.
