Darla Mae Ethier

May 27, 1938 – July 10, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of their mother Darla Mae Ethier on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the age of 81 in the Herb Bassett Home, Prince Albert, SK.  Darla was born on May 27, 1938 in Prince Albert, SK.  Al and Evelyn Burt raised Darla and her sister Grace in Prince Albert.  On January 24, 1957 she married Ray Ethier and raised the three boys: Rory, Randy and Ross and a daughter Laurie McKay.  Darla worked at the Emma Lake Golf Course, Ethier’s Yardgoods and SaskTel as well as spending hours tending to her garden and sewing.  She leaves to cherish her memory, sons: Ross (Janet) Ethier, Rory (Brenda) Ethier and Randy Ethier, her grandchildren: Trista (Graham) Parsons, Justin Holz, Ashley Ethier and Tyson Ethier, Deena Kapacila, step-grandson Morgan Gale, great-grandchildren: Ella Deobald-Holz, Jake Deobald-Holz, Maleah Parsons, Dakota Ethier, her sister Grace Parker as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Darla was pre-deceased by her husband Ray Ethier and a daughter Laurie McKay.

A Memorial Luncheon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK.  A Private Family Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.  The family would like to thank Dr. Oleksinski and the West Hill Medical Clinic staff for Darla’s care, and the staff of Herb Bassett Home, especially Jenn McDougall, for the kindness and care given to our mother during her stay.  In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Herb Bassett Home or the Vic Foundation either can be mailed to – 1200-24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4B2.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel- 306-922-4729.
