Hilda passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at age 86.  She became a resident of the Herb Bassett Home in January 2016.

Hilda was born on the farmstead in Duck Lake on May 14, 1933.  She attended school in Prince Albert graduating from P.A.C.I. in 1950 which brought her to working at the Bank of Montreal.  On October 9, 1954 she married E. Barry Jones and her life of raising children being a mother and a wife began.  Together they raised three children: Tom, Lorraine and Ken enjoying a life rich with friends, travel and activity.  Hilda won numerous bowling and golf awards and belonged to the Kinette and K-40 clubs.  Together Hilda and Barry spent time at their home in Prince Albert, the cabin at Emma Lake and many winters in Hawaii or Arizona.

Hilda’s memory will be forever cherished by her children: son Tom (DeLee) Jones and their children Catherine (Ryan) Liedtke (Maryn, Grady, Erika), Andrew (Jaymie Perry) Jones, Allison Jones (Alan Hewlett); daughter Lorraine (Lyle) Campbell and their children Erin (Kevin) Lysak (Carter, Matthew), Jill (Scott) Sawyshyn (Julia, Olivia); son Ken; sisters -in-law Grace Jones and Mary Ellen Jones and brother-in-law Nick Kit.

Hilda is predeceased by her husband E. Barry Jones (October 2, 2010), parents David and Helen Pauls, brother Walter Pauls, sisters Anne Green, Elfrieda McGunigal, Vera Kit and Adeline MacDowall, brothers-in-law Gordon Jones, Joe Green, Les McGunigal, Wayne McDowall, and parents-in-law Ernest and Mary Jones.

We are eternally grateful to the staff at the Herb Bassett Home.  They respectfully and compassionately cared for Hilda our Mom, helping maker her final years as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Thank you.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the South Hill Cemetery, Prince Albert with Reverend Nora Vedress as officiant.
