James Russell “Rusty” McKenzie was born on Wednesday, April 7, 1971, in La Ronge, SK, and passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 47 years. Rusty is survived by his daughter, Nikki McKenzie; his God daughter, Tami Lee McKenzie; his God son, Brycen Crawford; his mother, Flora (Charles) McKenzie; his siblings, Bernice (Hector) Roberts, James (Rita) McKenzie, Ahab (Lowine) McKenzie, Daniel (Ernestine) McKenzie, David (Patty) McKenzie, Annie Betsy (James) Crawford, Jonas (Carrie) McKenzie, Ambrose (Irene) McKenzie; his special nephews, Brody Crawford, Brycen Crawford, Ayden McKenzie; his special grandson, Levi “Big Guy” McKenzie; his special friends, Ernie Charles, Michael Hardlotte, Sam Donald Charles, Oscar Cook, Phillip Roberts; his special cousins, Jimmy “George” Charles and Brenda Charles; the mother of his daughter, Connie Brooks; his daughter’s sisters, Danielle Brooks and Dylan Brooks; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Zacharias “Zack” McKenzie; his sister, Emily “Ida” McKenzie; his brother, Ben McKenzie; his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Betsy McKenzie; his maternal grandparents, William and Annie Charles; his uncles and aunts, John (Betsy) McKenzie, Benjamin (Maryann) McKenzie, Thomas (Rosie) McKenzie Charles; Nikki’s grandfather, Antoine Roberts; his cousins, James “Big Jim” McKenzie, Benjamin “Chakapeas” McKenzie, Jean B Charles, Doreen Clarke, Howard “Howie” Charles. The funeral service for Rusty will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday February 7, 2019, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Stanley Mission, SK, Rev Richard Custard and Rev Elias Ballantyne officiating.
