Her brother Kyle Dripps, brother in law Robert Barnard, and sister in law Charlene Craig. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Armstrong, mother Emily Dripps, stepfather Matthew Dripps, brothers David Craig, Gerald Craig, sister Rossine Barnard, and her son in law Tony Quibell. Lorraine was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan and grew up in Regina. She and Roy moved their growing family to La Ronge in 1961, making the community their home for almost 58 years. After retiring from SaskPower with over 20 years of service, she was a Commissionaire with the Government, a guard with the RCMP and she spent her last working years in the Detox Department at the Health Centre in town. Lorraine helped out at many events and was on various committees and in clubs, building and shaping the community of La Ronge to what it is today. Lorraine was a wonderful baker, supplying the town with donuts and pastries and made the most beautiful lemon meringue pies. Her big pot of cabbage rolls and fresh buns were always a welcome treat. Lorraine loved the outdoors and built a cabin at Otter Lake out of logs that were cut and peeled by the whole family. She loved gardening and was always puttering outside. Flowers and more flowers! Fall meant every surface in the house was covered in green tomatoes and the air smelling of the freshest pickled garden bounty. Her artistry shone when it came to fabric. She made all the family clothing, plus her own and was always contacted to make outfits for ladies, new to the community. Her piano/music was her bible. She loved to sing and play and passed on that love to her whole family. A celebration of life will be held in the spring in La Ronge. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the La Ronge Senior Citizens, Box 688, La Ronge, Sk. S0J 1L0. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at La Ronge Home Care, her care giver Honeylee, The Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home and the Lemieux Funeral Home in Ponteix.
