Sadie Horne

Sadie Horne of Prince Albert passed away peacefully on December 31, 2018. Born on August 17, 1928 she is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, George Horne, her daughter Penny (Myles) Korte of Prince Albert, her son Russel (Shelley) Horne of Edmonton, grandchildren Tyler Korte and Travis (Nichole) Korte of Saskatoon, Jacklyn (Curtis) Horne-Stasiuk and Carling (Ryan) Stiksma of Edmonton and Blake (Jena) Horne of Petawawa, several great-grandchildren as well as her sister Dorthy Richards of Prince Albert and sister-in-law Yvonne Clarke of Trail.
Sadie was raised on the farm near Smeaton and lived in the North for several years as George worked as a bush pilot. In the early sixties, they opened a fishing resort at Jan Lake where she spent all of her summers until their retirement.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be conducted at Grays Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 5 at 12:00 noon, 575 – 28th St. W, Prince Albert, SK, with a reception to follow.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their thoughtfulness and care during Sadie’s last days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital 5th floor Palliative Care Unit.
