Dan Wayne Tyson was born on Sunday, January 20, 1952 in Saskatoon, SK, and passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in Candle Lake, SK.
Dan was proud to be a House Leader and a member of the Cowboys football team during his years at City Park Collegiate. Dan and Monica were married in 1971 in Saskatoon. They spent their early married years in Saskatoon, Yorkton and Prince Albert with Imperial Oil prior to moving to Calgary in 1982. While in Calgary he saw a niche market consulting, brokering and valuating dental practices and he eventually established his own business, Tyson & Associates Inc.
In 2010 they retired to Candle Lake where he had built their cottage along with the help of many hands of friends and family. Along with the cabin, another source of enjoyment was his 1991 SeaRay boat which continued to tow numerous wakeboarder, tuberider and skiers – no matter what time of day.
Although he was entrepreneurial and successful throughout his career, he was most known for being a proud husband, father and grandfather, handyman, card player, and fisherman. He could almost always find a solution for everything. Throughout his life you could find him volunteering in every community he was a part of. Those organizations benefited from his on task planning and leadership skills.
Dan is survived by his wife, Monica (nee Willms); his 3 children, Sean (Dayna Christensen), Raeleen (Greg Muller), Reagan (Erin Leadbeater); his 6 grandchildren, Hannah and Sophie, Mitchell and Matt, Madalyn and Chloe; his sister, Gail (Laurie Anderson); his brother, Syd (Carolynne Fraser); his auntie Lois and uncle Bruce Dalgarno; his auntie Evie Anderson and uncle Rene Marleau; his brothers-in-law, Allan (Linda) Willms and Trevor (Laureen) Willms. He was predeceased by his parents Allen & Irene (Marleau); his parents-in-law, Heinz & Katharina Willms.
