Robert (Bob) John Turnbull
July 31/1952-August 26/2018
Our brother Bob passed away peacefully in the Victoria Hospital on August 26, 2018 at the age of 66 years. He was born and raised in Prince Albert but lived and worked for Prince Albert National Park in his beloved Waskesiu. We can’t remember anyone who didn’t know “Big Bob”. He was very active in his community where he was proud to be a volunteer firefighter until his retirement to Birch Hills after 25 years at the park. You could always see Bob driving the firetruck in the July 1st parade every year. He had a beautiful voice and would entertain the children at Waskesiu for hours on end. They will always remember him singing their favourite song “Bellybutton”. There wasn’t much about Waskesiu that Bob couldn’t tell you about, including the best fishing holes. He was a fun uncle and a great brother and friend.
Bob is survived by his sister Wendi(Joël) Hudon of Candle Lake, and his brother Doug(Karen) Turnbull of Saskatoon. Also missing him are his nieces and nephew: Dani(Mike), Bree, Kailey(John), Vaughn(Dayna), and Laura(Chris) and his great-nieces and nephews: Taya, Linkin, Rilynn, Allory, and Nixon. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his newest great-nephew soon to be born.
He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Jean Turnbull and his grandparents.
At Bob’s request, there will be no service. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
“ Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin’
Love for the Father and the Son”
