The family of Ronald Herdzik is sad to announce his passing on July 26, 2018 at the Herb Bassett Home. Born on February 16, 1958, Ron spent most of his years in Prince Albert living at TLC Home until illness forced his move to the Herb Bassett Home for the last four years of his life. He was well known in town, especially for his love of the Raiders hockey team, seldom missing a game. He also loved his work at KIN Enterprises where he did a variety of jobs over 25 years, until illness forced his retirement.
Ron was a prankster and loved to tease and play tricks on his family and friends. He was a sensitive person who cared greatly for those he loved. Ron had many other loves which included good food (especially mom’s good cooking), KFC, ice cream and beer, big trucks, his many jobs at KIN, music and guitars, cowboy boots, bowling, summer camp, and especially Christmas and playing Santa. Ron was also a real ladies’ man and danced with them all. He had a big personality and will be missed by all who knew him.
Ron was predeceased by his father, Mike, in 2006. He leaves to mourn his mother, Sofia; his siblings, Chris, Walter (Roberta), Ed, Theresa (Nick) Karkut, Mary-Ann Gartner (Roger) and Tony (Lisa); and his nieces and nephews, Renata (Wayne) Smith and Carmen Herdzik, Lisa (Oscar) and Neil Karkut, Joseph, Stephanie and Vanessa Gartner, and Melissa and Zachary Herdzik. Ron’s family will always be grateful for the staff at Herb Bassett Home, TLC Home, KIN Enterprises, and everyone who ever assisted Ronnie in any way. Ronald’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
