Gladys Ruth Ferguson (Jan 3, 1943, to Jul 19, 2018)
A deep sadness fell over our hearts with the passing of Gladys Ferguson (nee Reynish) on July 19, 2018, of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the age of 75 — Wife, Mother, Sister.
She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched and especially by her loving husband: Lionel Ferguson, her children: Garfield and Leslie, Jennifer and Zlata and her grandchildren: Harris, Connor, Keiran, and Melisa as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
She is survived by her brothers: Stanley, Wilfred and Ted and her sisters: Edna and Millie; brother-in-law: Wayne and Mary and Brian.
She was predeceased: by her parents, Mavis and Edward, her brothers: Sid, Danny, Leslie, and Jimmy, and sisters: Ethyl and Phillis; her mother and father-in-law Bertha and Garfield and her sister-in-law Doloros.
Gladys was born and raised in the Prince Albert area falling in love with and marrying Lionel by age 19. Family came first for her so giving of her time and care to everyone in her family. She spent several years caring for her ailing mother. She had careers as a Legal Secretary and Manager of the P.A. Foodbank before finding her true passion as a Childcare worker. She had a profoundly positive impact on many of the mothers whose children she cared for.
A special thanks must go to Dr. Gordon Surkan and Dr. Drew Kirk for the care they thanklessly gave to Gladys during the course of her struggles with Alzheimer’s disease.
Donations in memory of Gladys can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
A memorial service will be held August 17, 2018, at 2:00 PM in Gray Funeral Chapel in Prince Albert. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
