Marna Muric

Marna Lois (nee: Miller) Muric, was born on January 15, 1955 in Penticton Hospital, Penticton, B.C. Marna passed away sadly on May 26, 2018 at the age of 63 years in Shellbrook Palliative Care. Marna was the third of four girls born to Wilfred and Annie Miller. She took grades 1-6 at Queens Park School in Penticton, and grades 7-12 at Similkameen High School in Keremeos, B.C. She graduated from Life Bible College of Canada in Burnaby, B.C. and soon afterward went to Nicaragua, where she was a missionary assistant for one year with Rev. Jerry and Jenny King and family. Upon completion of this assignment she attended Spanish Language School in Costa Rica for 3 months. After a time of being back home in Keremeos, Marna moved to Edmonton area where her childhood friend Melodie and many other friends lived. She met Robin Allen Muric at Church. They were married December 11, 1982, and in December 2017 they celebrated their 35th anniversary together. They lived in Edmonton area for most of their married lives, except for a 2 year stay in Keremeos, B.C. In October 2016, they sold their place near Onoway, NE of Edmonton, and moved to Mont Nebo, SK. Here, Marna and her sister Bernice were neighbors. Her employment shows her wide spectrum of interest. Her first jobs were picking fruit and vegetables and restaurant work in southern B.C. Jobs in Edmonton were, Mountain Rig parts delivery, Western Store in West Edmonton Mall, Grandma Lee’s, School Bus driver, Florist in Safeway Store, Custodian in several schools in the Edmonton area until her retirement in 2016.
Marna has always loved animals. From her Romper Room horse to the many critters she lovingly tended over the years. She always remembered their names, their birth-dates, and their ages. She did ceramics, cross stitch, gardening, motorcycling with Christian Bikers Association. Though small in stature, Marna was nicknamed Mighty Mouse by a dear friend. He said she put a spark in his life, and in a lot of lives. Her special gift was poetry. Her choice of words always bringing a smile to the reader and intrigue into the writing. Her spoken word was uplifting and encouraging, and she stood for what was right. Marna is survived by her loving husband, Robin Muric of Mont Nebo, SK; her father Wilfred Miller (96 years) of Penticton, B.C; her three sisters, Beth (Rick) Cameron of Penticton, B.C; Bernice (Cliff) Millar of Mont Nebo, SK; and Rhonda (Rainer) Philipps of Olalla, B.C; as well as 6 nieces, 3 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law, Anna Muric; her siblings-in-law, Eddie Muric, Salko Muric, Anna Lewchuk, Jimmy Muric and Michael Muric. Marna was predeceased by her mother, Annie Emma Miller in 2008; her sister-in-law, Brenda Daravingas; and her father-in-law, Mike Muric. The Funeral Service for Marna will take place on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mont Nebo Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Glenn Blazosek officiating. Marna will be laid to rest in the Hawkeye Cemetery.
