Jean Ragnhild Skidnuk, nee (Stene) aged 80 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 20, 2018 at Parkland Health Centre in Shellbrook, SK.
She is survived by her partner Arthur Arnold Altstadt; her brother Les Albert Stene and her children; Shelley, Derrick, Brenda, Jim and Tom; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Born in Shellbrook, SK, the daughter of Lloyd and Ragnhild (Nyberg) Stene. She grew up in Mayveiw, SK, loving life on the farm. She met her late husband Gerald Alexander Skidnuk and they married in 1956 and lived on the Queen Charlette Islands for a few years. Later they moved to Holberg, BC where she worked at the hospital as a cleaner and was a member of the Canadian Forces Services for over 20 years. In 2008 she retired from her cleaning position at the age of 70 in the Comox Valley from the Department of National Defence with 35 years of service.
Her love of the Saskatchewan Agriculture brought her back to Canwood in 2014. Where she reunited with a long lost friend, becoming partners in life until her last days.
She had a passion for gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with her friends. She loved the ocean and spending time there with family. Family and home meant everything to her. She will be dearly missed by many. A celebration of life to be held this summer.
