Mary was born on Saturday, November 21, 1925 in Samburg, SK. She lived a kind, generous, compassionate and hard-working life. She married the love of her life, Tony, on Sunday, November 10, 1946 in the district of Samburg, and they worked together in bush camps for years, where Mary was a cook supporting the building of many of the roads still in use around Saskatchewan to this day. They lived in Prince Albert where they raised their two children while Mary worked at the John M. Cuelenaere Library. Known for her love of gardening, baking and crocheting, Mary was always busy sharing her love with her family and friends through fresh vegetables from her garden, delicious preserves and traditional Ukrainian baking, as well as creating many wonderful blankets, doilies, and even sewing dresses and skirts. Making the day brighter for everyone who came to know her, Mary will be dearly missed.
