Garry Klughart December 25, 1948 – April 11, 2018

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Garry “George” Klughart after a short battle with cancer at the age of 69 on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert with his family by his side.   Garry was born on December 25, 1948, in Prince Albert to Cecil and Cecilia Klughart. Garry was raised in a family of six and learned at a young age the importance of family and a love for sports.  Garry became a 3rd Class Steam Engineer, working for Parkland Health Region until retiring on March 31, 2018. He enjoyed his work and found many friends through his employment.  Garry met and married Sheila in 1971 and had 3 children Susan, Wendi and David.  On May 24th, 1999 Garry married Arlene in the beautiful setting of Fairmont, B.C. to this union they were blessed with Danny the youngest in the family.  To Garry family was important especially his children and grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face. Watching them in any activity they participated in made him proud and gave everyone the lasting memories they have. His talent on the golf course with his senior’s men’s group had many laughs, many casts off the dock and in the boat fishing with family and arguments of who caught the biggest one and who had the most, playing crib but most of all it was his sports. Countless hours of playing and watching in the later year’s football, baseball, hockey and of course golf, with his children and grandchildren their activities were a great joy for him.  Garry will be forever missed by his loving wife: Arlene; his children: Susan; Wendi (Paul) ,David (Allison) Daniel (Keanna),grandchildren: Dawson, Rebecka, James, Garret, Cole, Isabella, Brooklyn, Oliver;  siblings: Deborah (Allan) MacArthur, their children Brent, Angie, Scott; Rosemary (Edwin) Bear their children Karla, Nicole, Garry’s beloved pet Stuart that brought him much joy as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Garry is predeceased by parents: Cecil and Cecilia; brother: Kenneth Klughart; brother-in-law: Kevin Scheier; aunt Hilda Klughart, pets: Bandi and Taz.  Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 16th, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Serfas as Officiant at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, 581-9th Street East. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).  In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations in memory of Garry may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, #54 – 11 St. East, Prince Albert, Sask, S6V 0Z9
