1980 – 2018
It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Richard (Richie) Lofstrom on March 12, 2018 at the age of 37. Richard was born to Mary Lou Delainey and Rodney Lofstrom on December 22, 1980 in Valleyview, AB. Richie was raised by his grandparents, Mary and Aldon Lofstrom in Choiceland, SK always surrounded by the extended Lofstrom family. Richie loved being around family, being raised with his brother and sisters, Debbie, Kyle, Stephanie, and Leisa. Richie was a farm kid at heart. You could often find him outside playing baseball and helping to fix equipment. Richie graduated from William Mason School in Choiceland in 2000. From there, Richie took after his dad and entered the logging industry. Richie loved to operate machinery, working in logging up until his passing. Richie, Kyle, Christian and Leisa often worked together in the bush, operating processor machines. Anyone that was around them, would have to endure hours of stories of the bush. Richie loved being with his friends. He could often be found singing Love Shack or rocking out to ACDC, all the while having the time of his life.
He was fun loving and happy when he was around his friends and family. Richie loved to joke and laugh; making fun of those around him was a way to show he cared. He loved baseball, video games, home cooked meals, and logging. Richie was lucky to have such a big family, as he loved children and was fun uncle Richie with his nieces and nephew; he was one of them, a big kid.
Richard is survived by his dad Rodney and step-mother, Roberta Lofstrom; his mother Mary Louise Delainey (Ken) and her children; his siblings Kyle (Amanda), Stephanie (Ken), Leisa (Zac) , and Debbie; his nieces and nephew, Olivia, Naomi, Vanessa, Cynthia, Ayden, Ava, Hannah, Scarlette, Emma and Abby; his aunts and uncles – Alice (Edgar) Fontaine, Leo (Dolly) Lofstrom, Nels (Corey) Lofstrom and Vicky Lofstrom; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Aldon and Mary Lofstrom, and his uncles Ellwood and Aaron Lofstrom. He will be forever missed.
