In Loving Memory
William Ernest Mathers, Sr.
Born May 23, 1942
Alingly, Saskatchewan
Passed Away March 14, 2018
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
Bill was born on Saturday May 23, 1942 and passed away, at home, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the age of 75 years. Bill is survived by his loving family: his wife of 51 years, Ethel; his son, little Billy (Lori) Mathers and their children Riley, Shay, Cassie; his daughter, Cherrie (James) Vermette and their children Justin, Quenton, Philip and Hailey; his daughter, Lorretta (Glen) Markowski and their children Nicholas and Aydan; his brothers, Henry (Darlene) Mathers, Jim (Judy) Mathers, Gordon (Carol) Mathers, Douglas (Phyllis) Mathers, Derek (Emily) Mathers, Ronald (Shelly) Mathers; his great-grand-children, Dominic, Natalie, Blair, Lukas and Leland.
Dad was pre-deceased by his parents, Stella and Harry Mathers; and sisters, Thelma Grayson and Doris Demaris.
Dad loved quading in the back of Nordale and spent many weekends quading with his brother, Ron and sister-in-law Shelly Mathers. He was also known as Bottle Bill by the ball teams that played at the Lakeland Ford Ball Park, as for the last few years he was the gate keeper at the ball park. He loved a bargain, so every summer he and Mom did the garage sale circuit in search of them.
Dad was also the guy who always had the correct tool for any job. All you had to do was ask, and he had advice at how to do the job and the proper tool needed.
Dad made a “Redneck Drive- In” by his fire pit, and on summer nights he could be found watching VHS movies on his big screen TV in front of the fire. Everyone who knew Dad will remember his laugh when he thought something was hilarious. He had this special laugh that was contagious to anyone that heard it.
He had many special nieces and nephews that he loved.
