Solange Agnes Samson (nee Vien) was born on Saturday, January 19, 1929 in Henribourg, SK, and passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 89 years. She was the youngest of 14 children. She lived for a few years on a farm with her parents in Emilbury district of Albertville, the Vien family then moved back to Labroquerie, MB, where she lived until she married Robert, the love of her life on October 12, 1946. They moved to the Samson Homestead and lived there with Robert’s parents and raised six children. She was an amazing farmer’s wife, with all the chores that had to be done with the assistance of her in-laws and the children as they grew up. In 1984 they retired to a beautiful acreage in the village of Albertville. Throughout the years, mom was very active in the Homemakers Club, Seniors Club, Church Choir, where she served God with heart and soul. She enjoyed bowling, senior bus tours, fund-raising walkathons, and her beautiful knitting. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by family, singing, cooking, playing cards and having 2 or 3 grandchildren on her lap. Mom’s smile was contagious and made us all happy! Rest in peace Mom, you will forever be missed by all of us. “Ont t’aimera pour toujours!” Solange is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert “Bob” Samson; her six children, Helen (Per) Christophersen, Cora (Gaetan) Malenfant, Henri (Linda) Samson, Shirley Leduc, Richard (Wendy) Samson, Suzanne Webb; her 18 grandchildren, Esper (Conny) Christophersen, Charlotte (Jeff Nichol) Christophersen, Ken (Jan) Malenfant, Marc (Bonnie) Malenfant, Noel (Michelle) Samson, Jean (Christine) Samson, Michel Samson, Cabe (Leeann and family) Houle, Reed (Angela) Houle, Serge Houle, Amanda (Jeremy) Johnson, Danica (Steven) Dach, Jackson Samson, Lucas Samson, Stephanie (Colin) Gendre, Chad Wilkie, Jayme Webb, Kyra Webb; 19 great grandchildren, Arthur Wagner Christophersen, Winston Nichol, Emma and Evan Malenfant, Owen, Sasha, Samuel and Gage Malenfant, Cameron and Emilie Samson, Ryder and Asher Samson, Elie Houle, Hunter and Tayva Dach, Caylee and Brody Edge, Emilia and Diego Johnson.
