Deschambault Lake RCMP seize liquor, make arrests

Four people have been charged in connection with a large quantity of bootleg alcohol in Deschambault Lake.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, members of the Deschambault Lake RCMP located a vehicle with two female occupants heading to Deschambault Lake on Highway 911, just south of the Deschambault Lake village.

Through investigation, members found 17 bottles of whiskey, each 66 ounces, two 40-ounce bottles of vodka, a 26-ounce bottle of Sour Puss and a four-pack of Smirnoff Ice in the vehicle. The bottles were hidden within the vehicle, for suspected resale within the community.

A short time later, a second vehicle stop was conducted. The investigation into the second vehicle stop revealed two female passengers were carrying four 66-ounce bottles of whiskey and a 26-ounce bottle of vodka.

In total, four women were charged under Section 138, (unlawful keeping) of the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act and are to appear in court

in Deschambault Lake, SK.

The estimated street value of the alcohol if re-sold in the community of Deschambault Lake, would have been well over $3,000.
