LLRIB sets new voting dates, introduces electronic ballots
Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) voters will be headed to the polls in May, in one way or another.
That’s according to an announcement made by the LLRIB council, which stated on the recommendation of the Election Tribunal, the new dates for the election are May 11 to 26. Between those days, electronic voting will be open to all LLRIB members. In-person polling stations are scheduled for May 25 in Stanley Mission and La Ronge, and May 26 in all other communities.
The remaining communities include Brabant Lake, Little Red River, Grandmother’s Bay, Morin Lake, Pinehouse Lake, Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Sucker River.
“In an effort to support social and physical distancing requirements that we are all following, this election will also provide for electronic voting in addition to regular polls,” the announcement states.
