Restaurants and bars expanding services in La Ronge
The hospitality industry in La Ronge is expanding their services as part of Phase Three of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan rolling out across the province today.
“We’re really excited to serve people,” said Kostas Manager Prince Ching. “We opened the lounge. There’s 24 seating capacity in the lounge and, in the deck area, we are going to put four more tables and accommodate 16 more people there. In our side room, we can accommodate 20 people there at a time. In all, we can accommodate around 60 people.”
As part of the plan, however, customers will notice changes such as having no access to VLTs or the pool table. Staff will also have to follow the advice from the Saskatchewan Health Authority like sanitizing tables, chairs and menus after every use. The lounge will also have to maintain a 50 per cent service capacity for now.
While the lounge area of Kostas has reopened, the eat-in section of the restaurant will remain closed for the time being. Ching noted the business is unable to offer a buffet for lunch, so it could stay closed until they are able to do so.
