There’s a new business set to open along La Ronge Avenue this month.

Tania’s Flowers is expected to open Dec. 16 in a newly renovated space in the Northland Motor Hotel. Owner Tania Colbert will also be taking over funeral arrangements from Cora Leung, who operated Country North Flowers for many years.

“I’ll be offering artificial flower arrangements, fresh flower arrangements, house plants, tropical plants, as well as small giftware,” Colbert said. “I’m trying to get in a lot of beading that people can purchase.”

Colbert was originally going to open a coffee shop, but ultimately decided to start a flower shop instead. It’s located in the former location of a restaurant, which closed around 20 years ago. Colbert explained the space was completely renovated with new flooring, paint, lighting, windows and exterior work.

Colbert believes the tri-communities are in need of a flower shop and is hopeful residents will support her business when it opens in a couple weeks.
