LLRIB providing financial support for food lost during power outage

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is providing assistance this week for food items lost during the power outage.
That’s according to a notice sent to members, stating council has collaborated to ensure band members affected by the power outage will receive the same amount of assistance. It noted LLRIB communities will be providing purchase orders to replenish food items starting this week.
“There will be $250 for every family unit and $125 for single members,” the notice states. “We ask for your patience, as it will take time to process the purchase orders. The communities of Stanley Mission, Grandmother’s Bay, and Little Red River will also begin issuing the purchase orders this week.”
The date the LLRIB will be issuing purchase orders for La Ronge, Hall Lake, Sucker River, and off-reserve members will be posted sometime this week.
