Boater rescued after spending night on Sikachu Lake

After spending the night alone on Sikachu Lake, a 19-year-old man was rescued this morning.
That’s according to La Ronge RCMP who received a complaint of the missing male on June 3 at about 5:30 p.m. The family told police the man went out on Sikachu Lake on a boat between 4:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. earlier that day.
La Ronge RCMP, along with the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, Canadian Rangers and local citizens, began searching the lake. At approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning, searchers found the man with his boat, which was out of gasoline, on the lake. He was reported to be in good condition and he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
La Ronge RCMP thank all community partners who assisted in the search.
