Province-wide fire ban lifted following rain
The Saskatchewan government has announced the lifting of the province-wide fire ban that had been in place since July 2 at provincial parks, Crown lands, and in the Northern Saskatchewan Administrative District.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) made the announcement the morning of July 19 following cooler weather and recent rainfall during Sunday evening and Monday morning.
Some municipalities continue to experience dry conditions and may keep local fire bans in place.
“The SPSA continues to encourage all municipalities to examine the fire risk in their local area and reminds the public to practice fire safety,” stated the release.
